11.01.09 - Phreekshow 2009
Amazing. That's the only way we can collectively sum up yesterday. The bands. The crowds. This was so far the biggest thing we've put on, second or not, and there was really so much going on I'm still not sure it hasn't ended yet. So many things went on and with such intensity, and we have all parties involved to thank. That means you.
So where to begin... well, first things first I wasn't expecting this to even happen this year. A few months ago - no, every day since we began - people have tried to put us down and destroy us. Recently, it's been starting to hit home even more, and I honestly don't know if we'll all be here tomorrow or not. One thing is for sure though: Halloween of 2009 all of you that showed up gave three words to the opposition. Hell. Fucking. No.
It's because of you all that we exist, and even have anything to do with our lives. We don't sell records. We don't cut corners. We're brutally honest and we tell you like it is, whether it hurts or not. But I don't need to tell you any of this. No, you're our fans - our zeros - for a reason. They can buy it? You steal it anyway. They call it music? You call it useless. There's a chance of rain the night a concert's going on? Still, plenty of you show up to mosh: rain, mud, and probably even hellfire. You're dedicated to what you do. You don't lie to yourself. That's what makes us one and the same.
For those of you not in attendance, here is what you missed. You missed the largest crowd I've ever not been a part of. You missed fire, strobe lights, and all out insanity. You missed a few of the new tracks from the upcoming album. You missed your own personal photoshoot session with the band in full gear. You also missed the first real show of The Mellow Blue, Meeg and my newer side project. In short, you missed the best unknown concert of 2009. The good news is, that's only limited to 2009. We're already discussing next year, and thinking about blowing Phreekshow 2010 up to unreasonable proportions. Think insane stage setups that shouldn't work but will. Think more theatrical. Think more.
But to all of you, thank you for letting us make it this far. We wouldn't be here without you, and that day is not one I'll soon forget. And I'll end it simply by saying what I always do: we'll be around so long as you'll have us.
Som of Organisma
10.27.09 - Attention Phreekshow 2009
Who's ready to set the world on fire? We are. And in six days, that's all going to happen. But in addition to that, we're going to let you add fuel to the fire. Bring your cameras. Use ours. We're doing a very special photoshoot that requires your help. This is going to get used EVERYWHERE, so if you want to get involved, you know what to do.
Get ready, cause album or not, shit's about to go down.
10.27.09 - Ready For Pain
A video entitled "Ready For Pain" will be posted at 6:00 EST on November 4.
10.27.09 - Message From Organisma
Due to problems outside of our control, the I Will Be Your Light album will have to be temporarily put on hold. To those of you who were expecting new music, we're sorry. This isn't a decision we wanted to make more than it is one you wanted to hear, and we will still manage to release it somehow as quickly as possible. Until then, please manage to bear with us. We will release a few EPs in the meantime.
On the other hand however, this gives us much more time to plan other things, such as tour dates, which many of you have been looking forward to. Will we be much further than here? Most likely not this time around, but as soon as possible we will be.
The show scheduled for Halloween is still on though, don't worry about that.
10.17.09 - Epidemic Now Available
As of 5:00 PM EST, Organisma's new single Epidemic is now available. Listen to it now up on myspace or download it here.
09.26.09 - New Single Available October 17
And out of Epidemic, Egosm, and The Dead Ways, one of them will be made available right here.
09.14.09 - Egosm: Music Video Announced
The second single from I Will Be Your Light is going to be Egosm. And this time, having weeded out our evils, there will be a video. We can't say when yet, but it will be soon enough. It has however, already been filmed.
09.14.09 - Dead Genre: The Making Of Us, The Breaking Of You
More information has been released for Organisma's upcoming DVD, Dead Genre: The Making Of Us, The Breaking Of You.
The shocking art film meets documentary will include Dead Genre: The Movie, directed by Meeg Marshall and Som Anderson, individual interviews with each band member, leaving nothing unanswered, music videos for Epidemic, The Dead Ways, Egosm, and an exclusive message from the band to their unwaveringly dedicated fans. This is a must have for every Organisma fan, and will not be made in print. The only option is to download the full package from the band's website, on the scheduled date of June 8, 2010.
Organisma have left the traditional behind the scenes videos in the dust, delivering a haunting, bleak view of the world from inside the mind of this metal masterpiece's creators. Much like a psychedelic experience turned to the worst, Dead Genre: The Making Of Us, The Breaking Of You will envelop your senses and leave nothing undisturbed. In addition to the typical interviews and recording sessions, much of the footage captures another side of the band: one that truly shaped Organisma into the sociopolitical battering ram they have become.
09.10.09 - Dead Genre DVD
Visit the Dead Genre section for more details on Organisma's upcoming DVD. Jarring visuals and chaotic cacophony await.
09.10.09 - New Items Added To Online Store
Check out some of the new items we recently added to our online catalog. They aren't available... yet.
08.26.09 - Message From Meeg
Bassist Meeg Marshall has posted a message for the fans.
ATTENTION EVERYONE
Let me start in saying that every one of you means everything to us. Without you, we wouldn't be here today doing what we do. I know that many of you were eager to see us in action in the Epidemic and The Dead Ways music videos, but unfortunately neither will be happening for a while. Many times in a world of business and face-ism people turn a blind eye to things that require attention, and often it's best to let wounds heal before opening them again. So much to our and your dismay, there will be no music videos for a while.
On the contrary, you may recall the Dead Genre DVD I began working on earlier in the summer. THAT WILL BE COMING OUT STILL, AND SOON. There's more filming to be done, but it will be out around February or March I imagine. We will post more on it very soon, and in addition to that the physical copy will come with a basket of goodies that remains to be announced. Among the things we can confirm at this moment will be a hand signed copy of the Dead Genre DVD, a message from us, and most likely an exclusive T-shirt as well. We're talking with screen printers now about rates, so a T-shirt is more than likely to be in it.
Thank you all for your patience and faith in us,
Meeg & all of Organisma
08.26.09 - Proud Available To Network Members
That's right, the bonus track that was promoted earlier this summer will be made available to members of the Network in the first week of October. Make sure you've signed up so you can get this exclusive track!
Here's what electronics specialist Kreep had to say about Proud:
"We've been working really hard to get the album done, and I know many of you have grown a bit impatient as we finish what needs to be finished. Consider it a taste of what is to come, consider it a teaser, consider it what you will - it's a little something from us for your patience. Som, Meeg and myself have written a lot of music, and Proud is one of those songs that didn't make the album. We're making it available to all members of the Network early on in October, so sign up if you haven't."
08.26.09 - New Organisma Site & Network

07.26.09 - I Will Be Your Light Review
I Will Be Your Light is the second album from tribal metal band Organisma of Pittsburgh, PA. Named for the saving grace the band reserves for its fans and the "I will be the light you see after death" mentality towards their dissenters, it stands as much more a criticism of the last ten years than a metal album. The band have come quite a distance from their rock/rap roots, now leaning more towards heavy metal. Nonetheless, they add a unique twist of their own to the music. Recording was planned for August 2008, but was postponed until May 2009. I Will Be Your Light is also the band's first professionally recorded album, most of which was done at the Nothing House, located in Pittsburgh, PA.
The entire sophomore album has been leaked to various sources for review and future radio rotation. To read the track by track review of I Will Be Your Light, click here.
07.09.09 - Epidemic Single & Music Video
Organisma have revealed the artwork for their upcoming single Epidemic, due to become internationally available on October 30. The band will also be revealing a teaser of the new music video soon.
07.08.09 - Phreekshow 2009
Two years ago, we started a small concert gathering here in our hometown of Pittsburgh. Two years later, it has returned.
Sat. October 31
Sun. November 1
Be there.
06.23.09 - I Will Be Your Light Tour Postponed
Organisma have decided to reorganize their priorities - album first, tour second. The I Will Be Your Light Tour will be rescheduled at a later date. They have expressed great remorse in having to cancel the upcoming shows, but wish to put on their best performance when all things are ready. The release for Organisma's second album is now planned to take place on Halloween of this year and there will be other shows afterwards, but not enough to call a tour.
05.18.09 - Epidemic Video Shoot
We've partnered up with a local director for our first ever music video. We've finalized the setting in the middle of nowhere in the woods. We've got our instruments. That said, this will be one nasty fucking music video. It's coming. The question now is... will you be ready? We, Organisma, are going to burn the current metal scene to the ground. This is a shock to the system that will get your adrenaline pumping. Shit will hit the fan. Get. Fucking. Ready. The details. Summer. High quality. This is it people. You are very, very near to seeing your very first music video of the four of us. Of all that's already been said, there isn't much else we can say. We're bringing everything to the table. Blood. Pain. Earsplitting sound. You've got it all on this one. And it's coming soon.
04.30.09 - Proud
By signing up for Organisma's mailing list, you'll receive the thirteenth bonus track from I Will Be Your Light, entitled Proud. The song will be sent via e-mail on the same date as the album's release, so now is the time to sign up!
04.30.09 - Epidemic Details
First I have to state that due to a structure fire next door to the house where we planned to film the video occurred in mid March. Unfortunately both houses were demolished and so we will be forced to relocate elsewhere. This also means that the video for The Dead Ways will not be arriving in mid Summer as we originally planned, but we're flexible enough to work with forces beyond our control. Instead, Epidemic will be our fist single/video.
So the video for Epidemic - it's going to be a performance music video and there's going to be a lot of black, a lot of contrast, and a lot of chains. I can't go into too much detail, but I can say that it will be the music video everyone is going to remember for years to come. It is going to be filmed in an older house, but which house that is will depend on the date and other circumstances. By then we will have all moved a few miles outside of Pittsburgh, and it's new terrain for all of us. The Epidemic video is going to be released on October 13, the same day the album drops, finished or not.
As for a sound of this new single, it's amazing. You've most likely heard the sound clip we posted earlier this year, but that is unmastered, unmixed, and only about 30 seconds of the whole song. It's very rap oriented and has some good metal and industrial parts to it as well: a perfect testament to who we are and where we are now. About two thirds of the way in there's an amazing drum solo with just about everybody getting into it, that vibe, and then we go back to the normal and back out again. It's powerful, that's about all I can say. Vocal chords have been broken in recording this. And we'll be shooting with high end cameras and converting it down to low end video. In other words, there should be more HD than you can physically handle.
So be ready. It's coming.
04.22.09 - Organisma Myspace
Head on over to our Myspace page to see the brand new 2009 layout! This is the first of many new updates of this year, so look out for the many others.
04.15.09 - Tour Dates Added
Check the Tour section for our 2009/2010 I Will Be Your Light Tour. Remember, we will be at each one of these cities, just not specifically in the listed order. We'll see you there.
04.12.09 - The Dead Ways Video Concept
Well I've been bouncing some ideas off of the other guys and we finally decided on the concept for the The Dead Ways video. It's going to be a little on the... disgusting side, and a little off kilter as well, so I figured I might as well share. The video's not even begun yet, but this is definitely set in stone now.
Essentially The Dead Ways is about situations we've overcome, grown past, or we're done dealing with. Som wrote a majority of it however, and much of it he's still struggled to live with even now. He managed to get all of that out on paper, but now it's time to really come to terms with things. In the video, Som is going to be featured in a small room crudely paper-mached along the walls with a few reminders of the past he's been trying to get away from. Essentially it's going to be a walk down memory lane and then an escape from it.
So the video for The Dead Ways will hopefully be out around mid to late Summer.
03.28.09 - First Single The Dead Ways Announced
The first single from our new album, I Will Be Your Light, will be the song The Dead Ways. Look out for more on it soon!
02.13.09 - New Site Layout
Welcome back to the madness motherfuckers... the site's been revamped and it's going to continue to grow and swallow everything in its path over the coming months. Enjoy yourselves.
01.22.09 - Organisma Announce I Will Be Your Light Tour
Organisma is almost complete with the technical work of their sophomore album I Will Be Your Light. The American shock rockers have been in the business for nearly three years now, and 2009 is the year they've chosen to honor their fans with their very first tour. The journey will begin on October 13, 2009 in Pittsburgh, PA, reach to a vast number of cities in the northeast US, and end once again in their home state of Pennsylvania with a show unlike any other. Bands to join them will include The Mellow Blue and a few other bands from Pennsylvania.
Bassist Meeg Marshall spoke of the tour, "2009 is the year we fucking dominate. The album is done, the image is established, the stage is set. Now all that needs to happen is we need to get our message out there. We're going to make people pay attention to this - it's fucking propaganda. So we'll be hitting some cities around Pennsylvania, a few in Ohio, and some other states around the East coast. We're just going to be playing everywhere we can. You're not going to be ready for this. There's no way in hell you can prepare for this."
The tour itself will be entirely paid for by the band, and that means one thing to all of Organisma's fans: you won't need to pay a penny to see them live. Just find the date you plan to see them, be there, and enjoy the hours of entertainment and chaos that ensue. Most of the locations are out of the way areas, but they should be easily accessible. Regardless, in typical Organisma fashion, you'll never need to pay for their music in any way, shape, or form.
01.02.09 - Intro Track Leaked
In case you missed it, the intro track from I Will Be Your Light has been leaked on the front page and all over the site. Download your free track now!
01.01.09 - New Year 2009
Welcome back to the madness everyone, and all of us would like to wish you a very happy new year. Stay safe and enjoy 2009. There's a new album to go with it.

Imagine for a moment you are in a room. It's cold, dark, and deep. You're packed in on all sides by thousands of human bodies, that like you, have lost track of all sensory itself. It's slightly hot as well, and the heat begins to grow. Sirens, screams, gunshots, and all out terror break the silence. You're scared - petrified even. Not one of the people in this arena knows what's happening next. Then comes a slew of prophetic words insulting your intelligence and your very way of life spoken in prophetic form. Then there is nothingness. And after that follows complete and total destruction of everything. That is our sophomore album," states Som Anderson. And it is also a four man metal military that creates a purgatorial wall of sound known to the living as Organisma.
Spawned in the quaint, conservative, 'nothing-ever-happens-here' suburbias of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, they are the incarnation of the world's opression, despair, social unjust, and insanity all aimed at two common missions - world domination and world annihilation. You could call Organisma the ultimate terrorist attack on the stability of today's 'system', or merely see them as four Pennsylvanians locked in eternal deep thought, though both would be wrong. "We just got tired of having shit thrown at us," explains bassist Meeg Marshall. "It eventually got to the point where everybody, literally everybody in PA, had something against us. The best way I can explain it is this: the image is this band and everything it strives to be. We keep that image at a safe level. We're the music though. We need the music and the music needs us. That's all that matters now. We don't care anymore. We don't give a fuck what anyone says anymore, but even push one of us and it means someone's quietly getting their eyes gouged out."
How many bodies Marshall or the rest of the band have disemboweled is unknown. The mass of onlookers they've collected in their nearly three-year existence however, numbers well into the thousands. Sitting atop not only a massively dedicated fan base, but a self-run record label, two-years-running musical gathering, and requests from numerous professional artists and musicians to help Organisma in any and all ways possible, it seems as though the group has reached a peak in their careers. Keyboardist/sampler Kreep Lambert would beg to differ however. "To us, ego is a horrible thing. It's practically the only thing stopping a lot of bands from staying strong. We've got what we like to call an 'anti-ego' though. I do what I do, everybody else does their thing, but together we're just this big faceless entity. I'm not everybody, and neither is anyone else here, so we're not taking responsibility or credit for what this thing does. Organisma is its own monster."
And it seems as if that monster is hunting live prey. Formed in the later portion of 2005, the band went through lineup changes and renovations, combined efforts with producer J Krasner to produce Album Three and I Will Be Your Light, and the utter madness of the band's sophomore album is beginning to be leaked into unsuspecting households and venues as silently and smoothly as a monoxide gas leak. "Our shows are just as important as our fans," says drummer Moose. "You can't have one without the other. So when we go out there, we don't aim to just put on a show. We go out there for blood. We have to destroy ourselves with Organisma because if it doesn't nothing else will. It's a part of all of us now." He continues, "but the shows aren't like anything else, I can guarantee you that. There aren't many people willing to set themselves on fire or nearly suffocate themselves at every show."
But again, there aren't many people in general willing to take anything as far as vocalist Som, bassist Meeg, electronics specialist Kreep, and drummer Moose have gone with their tribal industrial metal way of life. From the bludgeoned-to-death brute force of "Agenda" and searing screams of "Epidemic," to the molasses-like tendencies of "The Slurred" and melodic maniacy of "Egosm," and even to the mind-numbing and earth-toned basslines of "The Dead Ways," "Time Of Ruin," and "Smudge," each of the twelve tracks that outfit I Will Be Your Light as a destructive powerhouse also make it an ethereal realm to escape the pain. Whether you see them as heavy, soft, or Pink Floyd-esque is of no importance. The second album that lurks in the latter half of 2009 is an attack that will, without question, overload your senses.
Remember this... you have been warned.
